Dominant Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Player of the Year Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second straight season.
The twenty-seven-year-old won four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles title.
A Year of High Performance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The star player also triumphed at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second straight year.
In July, she became the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.
She received nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.
On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a higher level".
