Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to express about his profound loss.
"Adequate time has gone by that I can finally express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced passing more hours together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."
