Passionate followers of the pop star are demanding that a man who leaped a barricade and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A circulating clip depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past camera operators and charging at Grande while the performers walked down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was due to attend court on the following morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a performance. His Instagram feed contains clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers event in the city last winter.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Fans Voice Worry Over Grande's Safety

Numerous supporters blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said another response on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted guards at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's videos.

In clips circulating online, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was led out by security.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Numerous of supporters had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it began.

The movie, to be released on 21 November, is the second of a two-film version of the well-known stage production Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected friendship between two very different sorceresses.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the good witch Glinda, was dressed in a light pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the highest-grossing movie of 2024 in the UK, and earned ten award recognitions, earning several for best costume and production design.
