Toronto Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Meeting Against Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer was instrumental for the Houston Astros claiming the World Series in 2017.

Toronto's Blue Jays reached their maiden Fall Classic after 1993 by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the decisive game seven of the ALCS.

Down by two runs, the star outfielder hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning, guiding the sole Canadian team in MLB to a 4-3 series win in the series. Awaiting them are the Dodgers, holders of the reigning title, in the upcoming championship.

"I'm thrilled for our team, the city, the nation," Springer stated, a key player of the Houston Astros team that won the 2017 championship. "What an amazing experience."

George Springer has now slugged 23 October home runs, ranking him third in history trailing only Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"There's probably not another person in the world that I want up in that situation except for George Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked Schneider.

Seattle's team, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the sole team never to appear in a championship series.

Manager Dan Wilson stated "certainly that it's going to sting" following his side's defeat at Rogers Centre, but praised their work this season.

"This is a unique group. It's a shame that we finished on the unsuccessful side of the series," he continued.

Toronto's team secured the title on their two prior appearances in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Los Angeles in the opener on this Friday.
