Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a popular morning radio program.

The champion will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.

The show will be broadcast from 7 PM GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Afterwards, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being nominated for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
