Trump's Family Member Gets Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Prior to LPGA Debut
This young athlete has impressive social media presence
Kai Trump will have numerous well-known backers when she begins her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, obtained a sponsor's invitation to compete at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, owns numerous courses worldwide and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we play tight competitions," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, told her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He practically suggested to go out there and relax," she explained.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on world affairs, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions recently and maintains position 461 in AJGA standings.
Yet she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the top athlete worldwide," Kai stated.
"And he's a superior person. He advised me to play, relax, adapting to whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple most prominent players in women's golf at this tournament, including second-ranked the champion, British golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that involving Kai helps introduce the sport to different demographics, particularly with the next generation.
The young star boasts substantial online presence and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle company.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
