This event caused the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were subsequently released.

This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
